BUCKS COUNTY RACES NET SCRIPT

Proceed with the following script, pausing between paragraphs at your discretion.

At 20:00  Announce:

This is NET CONTROL operator <your call sign>.
Please stand by for the Bucks County RACES Net.

Enter the DTMF command to put the repeater in net mode.
If you do not have DTFM command, call on the repeater frequency for the Duty Repeater Control Operator for assistance.

The Bucks County net is being conducted this evening from <your location>, Bucks County.

This net operates on the primary County RACES frequency of 145.350 using the WA3EPA repeater located in Doylestown and may be linked to the BEARS UHF repeater on 444.200 located in Bensalem. All Amateur Radio operators are invited to participate in the net whether RACES members or not, and whether located in or out of Bucks County.

This is a directed net.
All operators are reminded to observe the directions of the net control operator.
The purpose of this net is to establish and maintain the skills required to provide communications in the event that an emergency disrupts conventional communications and to provide information and news to RACES amateur radio operators functioning in conjunction with the Bucks County Emergency Management Agency, which sponsors this organization.

This net is divided into formal and informal sections.
The formal section provides for operators to check in in the following order:

Operators with EMERGENCY traffic.
MOBILE operators regardless of location or affiliation.
RACES members located in:
(you may want to mix up the order of the 3 sections to keep peoples attention).
Lower Bucks County.
Central Bucks County.
Upper Bucks County.
All other operators locations in or outside Bucks County.

When you check into the net you are requested to state your call sign and whether you have any formal traffic or RACES announcements using a minimum of airtime, and remain on frequency.
Operators wishing to leave the net are requested to stay on frequency at least until the end of the formal portion of the net. Requests to check out from the net will be handled at that time.

Following the formal section net control will offer all operators an opportunity to discuss topics of general amateur radio interest.
Matters relating to emergency preparedness with Amateur Radio such as equipment construction, modification, maintenance and similar topics are encouraged.
All operators should follow FCC guidelines for station identification while on the net.

This is Bucks County RACES NET CONTROL. Operators will now be asked to check in.
(Be prepared to write down call sign, name and location of each operator checking in.)

If you have any emergency or priority traffic please call Net Control now.

Mobile stations with or without traffic please call net control now.

I will now ask for RACES Member operators in the three Sectors of Bucks County to check in.

RACES Members in the Lower Bucks Sector (Delaware River to Route 232) please call net control now.

RACES Members in the Central Bucks Sector (Route 232 to Route 113) please call net control now.

RACES Members in the Upper Bucks Sector (North of route 113) please call net control now.

Any other Amateur Radio operator with or without traffic regardless of location or RACES affiliation please call net control now.
(Call and ask each operator who called in with traffic to proceed with that traffic.)

This is Bucks County RACES NET CONTROL. Before we proceed to the informal portion of the net, are there any operators wishing to check out of the net.

This is last call for anyone wishing to check into the net with or without traffic.

We will now proceed to the informal portion of the net. Each operator who checked in will be offered an opportunity to comment.
(Call each operator in turn by call sign.)

Are there any final comments before we terminate the net?

I thank you all for your participation in the Bucks County RACES Net.

This net will take place again on these same frequencies next Thursday evening at 2000 hours and, as usual, all Amateur Radio operators are welcome to participate.

This is net control terminating the net at <local time> and returning the WA3EPA repeater to normal use.
This is <your call sign>, clear.

This is the end of the script.
Enter the DTMF command to put the repeater in night mode.
The Duty Repeater Control Operator will restore the repeater to day mode at this time.
